The Seattle Web Gallery was created in December of 1996 by the members of Webcraft Web Page Design and Galaxy-7.net in order to promote the visual arts in Seattle and even world-wide by providing a professional forum for the display of artwork on the Internet. By providing artists with web space on this site the SWG enables them to share the results of their labors with art lovers and art collectors the world over. Our service particularly benefits artists who have not had a previous opportunity to display their work in a gallery setting. As of 2001 the SWG is no longer accepting new members.
This web site has been designed to facilitate easy browsing of the artwork. Thus non-essential graphics have been kept to a minimum with our simple "virtual gallery" setting to reduce download time and to avoid distracting the viewer from the real artwork. Artwork graphics have been compressed as much as was possible without loss of image quality. Apologies to those who dislike frames, but they were the only way to keep our site layout open to easy expansion and alteration.
