NICHOLAS KOWALSKI, an artist visiting from Ghana, will be showing his paintings at Mwoyo Arts from August 13 through September 26, 1999. Rich in color and texture, his figurative paintings reflect his African environment and experiences. He says, "There is always an attempt at revealing the warrior and peacemaker, chaos and order, movement and direction, truth and lies, the known and unknown, and the mysteries of our world. These I capture in passionate, esthetic and emotional imagery." Nicholas Kowalski currently lives in Accra, Ghana, where he owns the Step-in-Gallery. He has exhibited throughout Africa, in England and the U.S.
