Until the age of 17 Charlie Harris had uncorrected vision of 20/400. Then a series of eye operations and a first pair of glasses allowed him to finally see for the very first time the individual leaves on a tree, and he has been observing the world very closely ever since. Harris' personal photographic work is a giant leap from his usual photographic assignments as Senior Photographer of the City of Seattle. In this show, Harris presents a series of one-of-a-kind graphically abstract, hand-painted, black and white multiples. The resulting unusual composite image is tiled together before a layer of semi-transparent artist oils is applied to the entire surface of the image, creating its own secondary visual layer.
