Tracy Longley-Cook explores various aspects of the world through her photography. While studying at the Maine Photographic Workshops she created two bodies of work which are showing in the Take 2 Gallery in February.
"Portraits of the Landscapes that Reflect the People Living in Them" gives Longley-Cook the opportunity to explore environmental portraiture and landscape photography in an environment that contrasts sharply with the city she grew up in.
"Lines of Descent" is a group of still life images involving ideas of family, personal identification and the search for our origins. These beautiful palladium prints use objects, text, maps and the body to define personal and historical contexts.
