Mwoyo Arts is a gallery in Seattle, WA that features contemporary art and traditional crafts from southern Africa, primarily Zimbabwe. Contemporary art exhibits rotate bimonthly and feature some of the finest painters in the region, as well as the world renowned Shona Stone Sculpture. Mwoyo Arts also maintains a permanent collection of handmade crafts including furniture, pottery, baskets, textiles, traditional musical instruments, and jewelry. We work in partnership with artisan cooperatives to ensure fair trade practices with the artists.
Mwoyo Arts promotes the arts of southern Africa in an effort to increase local awareness about the region. Mwoyo Arts is dedicated to a continuing program of community education and outreach. Educational Projects include a growing resource center on southern Africa, Shona language lessons, and African art workshops taught by a Zimbabwean artist. Write, call or stop by our gallery at the address above for more information.
